Root & Bone | New York, NY

Mac & Cheese
Big pasta, crunchy cheese, & biscuit crust

[Written by our friendly food blogger, Kelly Love Le]

My friend and I decided to go to Root & Bone today for brunch. No lie – we waited for 1.5 hours but my friend told me it usually doesn’t take that long to get a table. The hostess told us it was because it was Resturant Week and those who made reservations had priority. For someone who calls herself a “foodie”, I didn’t know it was restaurant week. You can’t blame me though, I am from Boston!

Once we got seated, we opted-in for their restaurant week menu because it had their chicken & waffles and mac & cheese, the two things I definitely wanted!

MY HIGHLIGHTS –

  • Grandma Daisy’s Angel Biscuit – This was so soft and when dipped in the honey roasted chicken jus, it was mouthwatering.
  • Drunken Deviled Eggs – First off, how cute do these deviled eggs look?! And second, it was a unique blend of sour and savory. I liked it A LOT!
  • Fried Chicken & Waffles – You can choose between white or dark meat and you know your girl chose the dark side! TBH I thought the cheddar on top of waffles was too much so I took it off my second piece, but if I didn’t already eat all that fried chicken and mac and cheese, I would’ve kept it!
